FAQ's

1. What is yoga therapy?
Yoga therapy is a personalized, evidence-informed approach that uses movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques to support your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. It’s tailored to your needs and goals. Yoga therapy is a complementary wellness service and is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment by a licensed healthcare provider. Please consult with your primary care physician, mental health professional, or other qualified health provider for any medical concerns. Yoga therapy can work alongside your existing care plan to support your overall well-being.

2. Do I need prior yoga experience?
Not at all! Yoga therapy is accessible for all levels from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. Each session is adapted to your comfort level, mobility, and personal goals.

3. What can yoga therapy help with?
Yoga therapy can help support various physiological conditions, stress and anxiety relief, trauma recovery, emotional regulation, chronic pain, injury recovery, prenatal/postnatal health, and overall resilience to name a few. It’s often used as a complementary approach alongside traditional healthcare or mental health support.

4. How is yoga therapy different from a regular yoga class?
Regular yoga classes focus on general sequences for a group of individuals, while yoga therapy is one-on-one or small-group, tailored to your specific health history, goals, and needs. It’s a collaborative process with more individualized guidance.

5. Can minor children participate in yoga therapy?
Yes, children and teens can benefit from yoga therapy. For anyone under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and may need to be present during sessions, depending on the child’s age and needs.

6. What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is a 90-minute session that includes an intake form review process, assessment of your breath and musculoskeletal systems, goal-setting conversation, and a personalized practice plan. You’ll be guided through accessible movement, breath, and relaxation techniques.
